** CLOSED ** Giveaway: Huddle to Fight Hunger with Kraft Foods #KraftFightHunger

Now that we've gotten through the whole "eating frenzy" of the holidays, we can concentrate on the next one… SUPERBOWL 2012! Woot, woot!! I know I for one am ready for some football.. and munchies, of course. We love a good game in our household.. even better if you can make it to a live game, but that's not always so easy with our large brood.

So, we do the next best thing.. have our own "tailgate party" at home. :)

Thanks to Kraft Foods, we received this fab package to get us started: a Weber Smokey Mini Grill, a Coleman 3-in-1 Blanket, a Charcoal Companion 4-piece Chef BBQ Tool Set, and a copy of The Neeley's Celebration Cookbook.

We are grillin' fools, and will do it come rain, snow, or shine… or dark of night. The hubby and I decided to cook up some yummy chicken breasts and cheeseburgers for our tailgate party last week. The kids always have alot of fun helping us prepare everything, and well… you already know they love to eat too.

The hubby thoroughly enjoyed his outdoor 3-in-1 blanket that kept him warm while he played chef (which he just happens to be), and I am mesmerized by all of the delish recipes from The Neeley's cookbook — two of my FAVORITE TV chefs!! And as you can see from the grill under the new Weber grill, it was time for a new one! lol

Doesn't this look like fun?!

Sharing delicious foods with the people you love is a wonderful time, but sad to say, we have people living right here in America that don't always have enough to eat.. on a daily basis! That's where Kraft Foods' "Huddle to Fight Hunger" tailgate campaign comes into play. Unfortunately, I "dropped the ball" and didn't get this post up in time, but I wanted to share the wonderful works that Kraft does to help fight hunger.

Huddle to Fight Hunger builds upon Kraft Foods’ nearly 30-year relationship with Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization, to help fight hunger in the United States. Unfortunately, hunger remains a quiet but prominent issue in this nation, as more than 50 million Americans – one in six of our neighbors – live in food insecure households.

Their goal was to give away 25 million meals to Feed America, which was surpassed! Kraft had set a 3-year commitment to this program, with 2010 being their first year. Kraft Foods donated nearly 21 million just at the first inaugural Kraft Fight Hunger bowl game held on January 9, 2011.

Many fans participated in the 2-Minute Trivia Drill on the Kraft Fight Hunger facebook page this past year… helping to donate up to 4,000,000 meals via online games and activities. Kraft enlisted high profile partners and personalities to champion the cause and get the word out, including American Youth Football (the nation’s largest youth football organization), football legend Joe Montana, celebrity chefs Pat and Gina Neely, as well as several former football greats.

Also joining Kraft Foods’ huddle are some of our biggest brand superstars including Planters nuts, Oreo cookies, Ritz crackers, Capri Sun beverages, Oscar Mayer meats, Maxwell House coffee, Kraft Real Mayo Mayonnaise, Miracle Whip Dressing, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and Kraft cheese.

Please stop by to "like" Kraft Fight Hunger on Facebook and get more info on the program. Show your support for this awesome cause!! We ALL know someone that can benefit from this very worthy program!

So, who wants to WIN their own tailgate kit valued at $110 courtesy of Kraft?! Just complete the mandatory entry in the Rafflecopter form below and do as many of the optional entries as you'd like for more chances to win!!

  15. april yedinak says:

I think this is a great program. I help fight hunger by feeding a large amount of neighborhood kids. Sad to say that between parents gone working all the time (so no one is there to feed them and then too tired to make nutritious meals when they are home) and/or simple negligence, there are a lot of kids going hungry. So, my house and kitchen are always open and I feed whoever shows up. There are some kids that are so grateful for a cupcake or a cookie because they never get them. The kids have even learned that if they show up to help me carry stuff in after I grocery shop that there will be candy for them, so I never have to carry anything in myself. Pretty good trade if you ask me! Over the last two years my open kitchen policy has not only helped my children gain lots of new friends, but also brought them a greater appreciation for the blessings they have.
