Goodbye 2011… HELLO 2012!! I can't complain though … 2011 was actually a pretty decent year for our family! We've had many struggles over the years … TOO MANY! Some too awful to relive — but, God continues to bless our family, and has always made a way for us to bounce back from whatever storms crossed our paths.
I don't believe in making New Year's resolutions. However, we do set individual and family GOALS for ourselves. Goals are something to "reach for" and are usually more attainable, whereas resolutions seem to put a person "under-pressure" to make sure they get DONE! And as most of us know from experience, very few usually get done.
I have no doubt that this is OUR YEAR!! I don't expect to hit the lottery although it would be quite nice or become famous, but I am hoping to accomplish ALL of the goals listed below for myself, my blog, and my family this year…
GOALS FOR 2012:
* Continue with my weight loss (64 lbs down so far) not just to look better, but to FEEL better! Since my Gastric Sleeve surgery on August 26th, I no longer have Type II Diabetes, high blood pressure, or sleep apnea! AND I can walk a flight of steps and not get winded!!
* Get back to a regular workout schedule on my own and with the family! I was going 3-4 times per week until the hectic holidays set in. So, I really need to get back on track to get fit and continue my weight loss.
* I was recently given the opportunity to move into our Social Services/Admissions offices.. thank the Lord! I love working with the residents at our Veterans Home, and helping the families looking to come into our facility! I want to continue to strive for excellence in my daily work, and am praying for an end to the hiring freeze with the State, so that I can land this job FULL-TIME!! Our family so desperately needs benefits and stability.
* I want to be better organized this year… not just in my Household, but with my Blogging and my Blog Design business. I am incorporating several new strategies in 2012 to help me make the best of everything, and in turn, make things much better for my readers, the companies I work with, and my blog design customers. In February, I will be offering paid themes and framework for WordPress blog designs.
* Just a few more things I'm striving for in my personal life: more one-on-one time with God, more "us" time with the hubby, and more individualized and family time with the kiddos and the grandbabies. MORE TIME period!!
So, what are your "goals" or "resolutions" for 2012? I would love to hear them!!

I don’t set resolutions either, but instead goals. I LOVE all of your goals and think that they are attainable. Nothing too drastic, but important nonetheless. Good luck with reaching all of your goals this year!!! And congrats on the weight loss – that’s amazing!!!
Tree – I think you need to just keep doing what you’re doing! You’re fabulous – huge congrats on the 64 lbs! You’re inspiring me to get up off my butt and work out, too. Here’s to looking and feeling great in 2012!
(If you figure out that last one about finding more time in the day, please let me know!)
I posted on your other blog – I wondered how your weight loss has gone! Congrats, that’s quite an accomplishment
