Layered Taco Dip

HOLA AMIGOS!! I’ve been asked several times to post my “famous” Layered Taco Dip recipe, and haven’t had the chance until now just remembered . I’ve been making this for years, and it’s always been a favorite at parties, and it’s “requested” quite often by friends and family members as a pot luck dish.

Very easy to make and OH SO tasty!! Great for all types of cookouts and parties… birthdays, New Year’s Eve, and, of course, the SUPER BOWL!!

Are you ready for some football? Enjoy!

Layered Taco Dip

  • 1 – 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 – 3 cups cheddar cheese
  • 1 – 2 cans refried beans (optional, my kids don't like them LOL)
  • 1 – 2 packages taco seasoning mix
  • 1 large jar salsa (mild, medium, or hot)
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can sliced black olives
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 1 large container sour cream
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped (optional)

  1. Brown ground beef and drain grease. Add 3/4 of the taco seasoning packets and water as per the package instructions. Once it's done simmering, spread mixture on bottom of a tray or platter.
  2. In a bowl, mix refried beans with the remaining taco seasoning and pour onto ground beef mixture. Spread evenly.
  3. In another bowl, mix together softened cream cheese and sour cream. Spread over refried beans mixture.
  4. Pour salsa over layers. Add a layer of chopped tomatoes and green onions, and top with Cheddar cheese and sliced black olives.
  5. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips or use as a filling for taco shells.
