We’ve never been big on spending for VDay. This year, we are doing our usual home cooked gourmet extravaganza (which we started when we had kids). We’d rather spend the night in and make it a family event! For dessert, my 3yo and I are making “Strawberry Dipped in Chocolate” Cake Pops and instead of fresh flowers, we’re making a bouquet of candy flowers made of gumdrops (thanks pinterest!).

This may sound like an odd answer, but I remember the best valentines day I ever and it was the best gift I ever received. It was a night that I was not expecting to do anything, my boyfriend had said he was going to work that night and couldn’t get out of his shift. He had lied about this and surprised me that night with two things. The first was him just telling me that he loved me and the second was these beautiful dark purple roses he special ordered for me. I have to say something as simple as someone telling me they love me in the manner he did that night is probably the one thing I would love to have happen again. It is the one gift I would love to receive for valentines day. Also, those dark purple rose would nice to receive again (lol).
