  4. The Fourth of July is a time to commemorate America’s declaration of separation from Great Britain that was made on July 4, 1776. Our freedom and our democracy that we have been blessed with is a direct product of the sheer determination from our forefathers who worked to establish the United States of America as a free country.

    The recent movie “Act of Valor” is a modern day reminder of the cost to maintain our freedoms. If you have not seen it I would highly recommend that you see it or buy the dvd when it comes out. Yes, it is that powerful. There is a quote at the end of the movie from Chief Tecumseh that is very powerful for the Navy Seal community and frankly it could be a motto for all of us to follow as we live our lives.
