Our first "interviewee" this week is coming over from Happenings of the Harper Household. Meet Danielle, a married stay-at-home-mom of two adorable little girls, and expecting a third princess, which you can read all about in her Pregnancy Journal. Danielle is a "crunchy" mama, and is very passionate about cloth diapering, baby wearing, and green living. Be sure to check out and link up for her weekly feature, Friendly Debates with the Danielles, that she co-hosts with another awesome blogger of the same name.

Q1: Please tell us a little about yourself, your family, your job, and/or your interests when you're not blogging.

A: I am a happily married, stay at home momma of two beautiful girls and another little girl on the way. This year, hubby and I will be celebrating 5 years of marriage – crazy to think of how much life has changed in the past five years. When I'm not blogging, I truly enjoy just being a mom. I love taking my kiddos to the park and doing fun activities with them. I do enjoy spending time out in nature – going on hikes or just enjoying the quiet of a summer evening. Reading this back to myself, I sound kinda boring, but I can assure you I love my life.

Q2: When and how did you start blogging, and how did you decide on your blog name?

Happenings of the Harper HouseholdA: I started blogging in August of 2010. A few of my friends were writing personal blogs to share about the daily happenings of their families and I thought, well hey I could do that too. And so I did. At first, that is all my blogging was – talking about our family and so the name "Happenings of the Harper Household" was perfect, but soon I saw that I could take my blog to another level by doing product reviews and things of that nature. By that point, my blog was gathering a rather large following, and I didn't want to switch things up by changing the name and that is when I had the brilliant idea to add the tag line "Where Mama Harper Reviews It For You!"…. which by the way the fabulous Tree is responsible for designing my awesome header.

Q3: Are there any topics/products you are passionate about on your blog? On the same note, are there any topics/products that you try to avoid blogging about?

A: I love sharing my thoughts and feelings about breastfeeding and cloth diapering – in fact, I currently have a huge prize pack up for grabs on my blog completely dedicated to breastfeeding. And from the response to giveaways that include cloth diapers that I host, I am pretty sure the vast majority of my readers have the same passions.

Q4: What do you personally look for in the blogs that you visit? What would keep you from returning to a blog?

A: I tend to gravitate towards blogs that have the same passions as me and some awesome giveaways definitely help as well. In terms of blogs that I just read because I enjoy the content, well those are the blogs that crack me up because sometimes I just really need a laugh.

Q5: Do you have any favorite blogging networks/groups that you visit often?

A: Well there is this super secret exclusive group I am a member of, hehe. Basically, what happened is a group of us started chatting while participating in a giveaway together and we all became awesome friends. These are the ladies that I lean on now for everything from blogging to problems in my personal life too…. I love those ladies with all my heart.

Q6: Would you share some of your favorite blogging tools, plugins, etc. that you use to make your blogging experience easier?

A: I absolutely love the giveaway plug-in that I use, because it easily allows my readers to see the active giveaways on my blog and how long they have left to enter.

Q7: Where do you do your best blogging, and how do you come up with fresh ideas for your topics?

A: On my couch, hehe No seriously…. once my kiddos go to bed for the night at 8PM is when I get all my blogging done. My kids are usually where my ideas come from, in fact every so often I actually have a post called "Sillies from Dilly" which is basically all the random hilarious stuff my oldest daughter says and does.

Q8: What is the most exciting thing that has happened to you because of your blog?

A: Our family has had lots of fun opportunities to review products and even went on an over night trip to a water park – my kiddos definitely enjoy the benefits of momma blogging.

Q9: Do you have any favorite posts and/or reviews from your blog that you'd like to share?

A: One of the best products that I have reviewed on my blog has to be the OvaCue Fertility Monitor and you can see why by reading this.

Q10: What advice you would give to a blogger just starting out?

A: Spend lots of time reading other blogs and asking questions! There will always be someone out there who will help you get started – I am so thankful for the wonderful ladies that spent time answering all my questions, and I hope I can be that person to someone just starting out too.

Q11: If you could have anyone, living or dead, write a guest post on your blog, who would you choose and why?

A: I would ask my Grams that passed away back in 2005 to guest post on my blog…. I am naming my third daughter in memory of her, and I know she has some words of wisdom that would enlighten a lot of people, hehe.

Q12: And lastly…in the next few years, do you see yourself still blogging, and if so, what would you try to improve on or add to your blog routine?

A: I see myself still blogging…. though as the years go by the focus of my blog will likely change. Right now I am focused on things like cloth diapers, breastfeeding, and baby gear…. but as my girls grow up obviously that focus will have to shift. Especially since this is the last baby to join our household.
