I thought since one of my goals for 2013 was to bust through this plateau I've hit since my gastric sleeve surgery almost 15 months ago, I would share my progress thus far. The BEFORE photo was taken the morning of my surgery, August 26, 2011, weighing in at 286 lbs. The AFTER photo was taken approximately 1 year later after an 81 lb. weight loss. The center is one that I took in the last couple weeks.
As you can see, I have kept the weight off with a fluctuation of 1-5 lbs here and there. However, I've struggled to lose the last 40 lbs, and will be working hard to get to my goal weight by this summer. One of the Healthy Living tips I posted about was to make yourself "accountable" to others, as well as yourself, which will help you stick to your goals.
SO, here I am – I'm putting it all out there for the world to see! I hope you will continue to follow me on my journey.
(Please excuse the quality of the photos – the hubby took them).

You’re doing awesome. Keep up the work! I posted yesterday a photo on my blog that I’m not proud of. It’s to hold myself accountable for how I look and feel. Me and my husband started taking mixed martial arts/fitness combo classes. It’s one of the hardest t hings ever, but I know I have to do it if I want different results.
Oh wow.. I’m impressed! I wish I had the motivation to join a martial arts class. I’m sure you will do great!
This is very inspirational. You look amazing. I am very proud of you! Losing weight is not easy, but it is worth it.
Thank you, Laura! It’s not easy at all, but I’m pushing forward!

You look amazing! I have never heard of the gastric sleeve. I told a male co-worker about my goal and he has definitely held me accountable even when I am not doing it myself.
Thank you! Yes, I really believe that letting others know what you’re doing makes you work that much harder.. nobody wants to fail. Good luck to you too!
