Crock Pot Hot Chocolate

Did Someone Say Hot Chocolate?

My kids love hot chocolate as much as I love my coffee.. and that’s alot of love! It’s the perfect winter beverage after a day of playing in the cold and snow. Warm, chocolatey goodness with just the right amount of sweet! I found this recipe on Pinterest a couple years ago.. but the site is no longer listed, so I can’t give anyone the credit. :( However, I’ve come up with my own version .. and boy is it tasty! See for yourself!

This recipe is a favorite in my household.. easy enough for the kids to make on their own. Just toss all the ingredients into the crock pot and let it simmer for a couple hours.. it’ll be plenty hot when they come in from the cold and are ready to warm up those little fingers!

P.S. Don’t be scared of the butter in this recipe.. it adds just the right amount of yummy fat. Trust me! :) Everyone loves this recipe! Also, if you can’t find Cafe Mocha creamer, you can use any chocolate variety.

Crock Pot Hot Chocolate

Crock Pot Hot Chocolate

  • 5 cups whole or 2% milk
  • 1 - 16oz. bottle Coffee-Mate Cafe Mocha creamer
  • 1-1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 - 14oz. can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 5 TB butter (yes, butter :) )
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  1. Turn crock pot on High (4-6 hours) setting. Add all ingredients and stir well. The cocoa will not dissolve yet, because the milk is cold, but it will as it heats up.
  2. Continue heating through for 2-3 hours or until hot and creamy stirring occasionally. Once hot, ladle into a mug and add your favorite toppings!
  3. Suggestions: whipped topping, mini marshmallows, cinnamon sticks, chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips.

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post for Coffee-Mate, and I was not compensated to post this recipe. I just love Coffee-Mate creamers and it works well in my Crock Pot Hot Chocolate recipe. 😉
