Long-time wifey to the #1 hubster, mommy to 5 gorgeous, ornery, and very silly kiddos that keep me laughing, “mom-mom” to two of the sweetest granddaughters around, MIL to a beautiful DIL that is like my own. Daughter to the most beautiful mother in the world! DIL to the absolute best in-laws you could ask for! No… seriously!!
Would love for you to stop by and Meet the Family! We are nowhere NEAR perfect, and are actually “slightly dysfunctional,” but we have a ton of love for each other. My family means the world to me!
Who Am I?
Family oriented, hopeless romantic, procrastinator, beach lover, computer geek, recipe junkie, self-taught designer, nurturing, multi-tasker, daydreamer, open-minded, protector, forgiving, mermaid-wanna-be, quick-witted, gift of gab, people pleaser, generous by nature, overly excitable, habitually late, screamer, idealistic, easily distracted, walking in faith, indecisive, happy-go-lucky, sympathetic, curse like a sailor, nail-biter, emotional, belly laugher, strong-willed, obsessive-compulsive, trusted confidant, long-winded, and young at heart.
About Mother of Pearl It Is:
Just like many of us, I started this blog as a way to connect and update family and friends. It quickly turned into an addiction a way for me to meet and share with others like myself… women, moms, dads, grandmoms, large families, moms to multiples, etc. I tried my hand at doing my first product review about a year ago, and that was it… I got the fever! I love being able to test products and share my experiences and opinions with my readers. I only accept product reviews that either myself or my family will use or that they are interested in trying.
Want to know how I got my blog name? My oldest son actually gave me the idea… without even knowing that he did! Read more about it here at Mother of Pearl, You Say?
My Goals and Dreams:
Personal Goals: We’ve had many-a-struggle over the years for various reasons (physically, economically, emotionally), and have overcome so many obstacles. One wish that I want for my family would be to become more “financially comfortable.” I don’t need or particularly want to be rich, but I would like to be able to take care of our necessities each month, and still have a little left over to “splurge” a bit … to buy something special for ourselves, and possibly to indulge in some of the more expensive things that we’ve never been able to do — that many have and may even take for granted – (owning our own home, purchasing a new car, taking a family vacation, etc.)
We’re also striving to make better changes in our lives. Eating healthier, exercising more often, working on correcting any bad habits, praying together, and continuing to be supportive of each other. My hubby is considered “permanently disabled” due to a multitude of problems and surgeries on his feet and ankles, and I have been on an up and down roller coaster myself this past year where my health is concerned. I’ve made a HUGE lifestyle decision, one that did not come lightly, and will be having Gastric Sleeve surgery this year — YEP, I’m Doing It! I am excited to begin my journey — to look and feel better not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. Getting rid of or at least minimizing the aches and pains of rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, shortness of breath, diabetes, back and knee problems, and being able to just run, play, and have fun again with my family would be wonderful.
I’ll be reopening my weight loss blog again soon, so if interested, you will be able to follow my progress there, and possibly get motivated to make a lifestyle change of your own. Coming this month, so watch for my announcement!
Blog Goals: To continue to grow my readership, work with outstanding companies and small business owners to bring you more great giveaways, maintain and make new friendships through blogging, and share my thoughts, views, celebrations, frustrations, and more with you… my friends!
THANKS FOR VISITING AND FOR BEING A PART OF MY LIFE!
