Managing Menopause With Estroven – The Good, The Bad, and The Sweaty

I was surprised to find out that September is Menopause Awareness Month. I never realized there was such a day. I'm glad to hear it though.. menopause symptoms can get a little crazy. I should know... I began having perimenopausal symptoms at around age 38. Then at age 47, I ended up having a total hysterectomy, which threw me into full blown menopause. The hot flashes were much more fierce and lasted for much longer periods of time after that. Not fun!I am not one to take many prescription … [Read more...]

I’m Doing the 5 Day Pouch Test

If you've followed Mother of Pearl It Is for a while, you are probably aware that I made a life-changing decision to have Gastric Sleeve surgery for weight loss in August 2011. I was a thin chickadee most of my younger life, and ate what I wanted with no problem. Being a gymnast, dance team member, and active overall helped to keep me lean and trim - that is, until I graduated high school and the activities stopped. Then I met my chef hubby, who fattened me up even more with all his delicious … [Read more...]

Because I want to get back to writing more "content" posts, and less review/giveaway posts... Because I want to chat … [Read more...]
